University—Industry Technology Transfer Program

The Faculty in Technology Transfer (FITT) program helps match North Dakota University System faculty with companies in the state who request high-level expertise for short-term intensive collaborations on science and technology problems.

To apply for FITT support, companies complete a form indicating their research and development needs. They agree to provide at least half of the faculty researcher's salary.

Success Stories

Dr. Selmer Moen, Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Minot State University received ND EPSCoR Faculty in Technology Transfer (FITT) grants to assist Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing in their development of aircraft test flight circuit boards.

 

Dr. Tom Gonnella, Mayville State University (MSU) Assistant Professor of Chemistry/Physics, has worked with Dakota Technologies, Inc. (DTI) through the ND EPSCoR Faculty in Technology Transfer (FITT) program to develop novel fluorescence methods. Through ND EPSCoR's BRIN program, Gonella initiated an undergraduate research program in which students will apply the technology being developed at DTI.
