Thesis: Vijaya studies cadmium concentrations in soils of the Pembina Escarpment in northeastern North Dakota. Cadmium is a heavy metal and is classified as a potential carcinogen. Her research will include the identification of sites in which cadmium concentrations exceed the acceptable limits and identification of possible causes of this contamination.
