Thesis:

Akiko is working with Dr. Peter Oduor on federal easement studies and economic stewardship incentives for the Red River basin. Her research interests include economic impacts of forest resource management studies in ND using advanced Geographic Information Systems (GIS) spatial analysis techniques, socio-economic impacts of various externalities, and economic and technical efficiency of Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS).

Akiko is from Niigata, Japan and enjoys playing tennis and softball, reading books, and spending time with her friends. She also enjoys sitting on Amtrak passenger trains and enjoying scenery, "so I can't wait to jump into the train and go travel somewhere again!"
