About the Instructor
Beverly Schulz holds her Bachelor's in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, her Master's in Adult and Continuing Education, with an emphasis on self-paced education, from the University of Phoenix, and her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Lacrosse University.
She currently teaches online classes for a number of colleges and universities. Additionally, she has 20 years of "in person" teaching experience in both continuing education and credit courses. Her writing and photography have been published in a number of magazines, and her family life has provided ample opportunity to test and develop organizational skills that really work!

You'll learn how to make the best use of even a little bit of time each week, expand your research to include multiple projects, keep track of queries and rejections, log expenses and tax deductions, take advantage of seasonal opportunities, and complete your own personal goals as a writer. Learn how to break into the magazine market with fillers, anecdotes, editorials, essays, humor, children's writing, restaurant reviews, tips and more. Discussion will include market research, queries v. direct submissions, turning short works into longer pieces and writers' resources. This class will include insight on the types of travel writing that sell, how to submit your work to magazines and newspapers, where to find open markets and resources for travel writers.
