Call for Papers

The Red River Applied Communication Conference is now accepting submissions

from undergraduates and masters students for the 2006 Conference at North Dakota

State University in Fargo, N.D.  The conference theme is "Confronting Crisis: Communication in the New Normal of Terror and Risk." The conference will host both paper panel discussions and poster sessions.

The conference’s emphasis on crisis and risk communication is designed to encourage students of communication to consider how the current world situation is affected by communication. A wide range of related research will be considered within the scope of this conference.

Submission Guidelines: Submissions should be formatted in APA 5th edition style. The title

page of your paper with author name and affiliation should be separated from the paper itself

and attached as a separate word document. Thus, you will submit two word files, one with

your contact information and another with your paper or proposal (without any author identification).

Papers will be identified only by title, which should be present on both documents. Papers must include the full title on the front page and the condensed title in the corner of the page with the page number (in the header). Submit papers as word document attachments to: NDSU.RRACSC@NDSU.EDU

Your submission will go through a blind review process. A reviewer will read the paper, rank it in relation to other submissions, and determine acceptance, status of presentation, and award nomination. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three papers presented at the conference.

You will be notified by e-mail by April 1st, 2006. If your paper is accepted, you will need to reply indicating if you will present your paper or not, register for the conference, and send in payment for your conference fees.
