MIS Minor

The Management Information Systems minor is available only to Computer Science, Accounting, and Business Administration majors. It is intended for Accounting and Business Administration students who are planning careers that involve more active roles as users, evaluators, designers, and/or builders of information systems. Computer Science students will gain exposure to issues relevant to the management of information technologies and a better appreciation of how businesses view information systems as a means to achieve organizational goals.

A minor in MIS requires a minimum of 21 credits. A minimum of nine credits must be completed in the College of Business. Students must earn a minimum 2.50 grade-point average, which is based on the courses used to satisfy the minor requirements. Courses may not be taken pass/fail. Approval form and fee must be submitted after completing CSCI 227 or CSCI 160.

* The student will be required to take an additional adviser approved course offered by the College of Business if a student substitutes CSCI 366 for MIS 375 and also substitutes CSCI 459 for MIS 376.

** It is strongly recommended that students who take CSCI 227 select CSCI 228 as their elective in preparation for CSCI 315.
