Accountancy Major

   The Accountancy Major is a five-year, 150 Credit hour program that leads to a Bachelor of Accountancy degree. The major prepares students for a career in public accounting and fulfills the requirement in North Dakota and other states for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination.

   Requirements and recommended curriculum presented here reflect the most current catalog year (2007-2008). For more information contact an advisor in the Department of Management, Marketing and Finance.

Details

A 2.50 cumulative grade point is required to enroll in 300 or 400 level accounting, business, or management information systems courses. A letter grade must be earned in any course that fulfills a major requirement.

Degree Requirements
  1. Students must complete all course and credit requirements for a bachelor of accountancy degree.
  2. Students must earn a 2.50 institutional cumulative GPA to graduate.
  3. Of the credits completed in residence at least 30 credits must be in 300-400 level Accounting, Business, and Management Information Systems courses.
  4. Students must be accepted to the professional program prior to the completion of the last 30 credits in 300 and 400 level Accounting, Business Administration, and Management Information Systems courses.
