Clinical Laboratory Science Curriculum
Courses listed here fulfill requirements for a Bachelor of Science, major in Clinical Laboratory Science, from North Dakota State University. College academic work includes college algebra, biological sciences, chemistry, and statistics, along with general education requirements in communication, wellness, humanities, and social/behavioral sciences. Courses in molecular biology techniques, virology, management, and research methods also are recommended. Courses included in the first three years must be completed prior to starting the clinical internship (CLS 496) in an affiliated hospital-based clinical laboratory science program. Upon completion of the educational and clinical internship, NDSU bestows the baccalaureate degree and the graduate is eligible to take the national certification exams offered by recognized agencies.

While every effort is made to provide accurate and current information, curriculum requirements tend to be updated annually. Students are subject to meeting the curriculum requirements in effect at the time of entrance into a major or program of study. It is strongly recommended that the student prepare a degree plan with their adviser to ensure that all CLS major, general education and college requirements are satisfactorily completed. Requests for substitution of courses taken at other colleges by transfer students are to be approved by the academic director.
