Questions You Should Ask
It is advisable to take the opportunity to ask questions of the employer; this will tell the employer that you continue to be interested in the position after having learned more about the company. It also tells the employer that you anticipated this portion of the interview and prepared for it (a quality that demonstrates a certain degree of professionalism). Remember to research the company and if possible reflect that in one or more of your questions.Sample Questions to Consider Asking
- What do you see ahead for your company in the next (five) years?
- What do you enjoy about working for this company? Are there any areas that you would work to improve?
- Could you describe the climate of the work setting in terms of appropriate dress, and the hours of operation?
- Has your company hired graduates from NDSU in the past? If so, what has their record been?
- What could I expect in terms of training for this position?
- What will be expected of me as a trainee? After the training program?
- How would my performance be evaluated?
- Is the training program a formal or an informal one? If informal, what experiences will I be introduced to? If formal, what areas of business will I be introduced to?
- Once an individual has filled this role, how will you determine if s/he has been successful?
- How do you think the (a current event) will affect your operations?
- What are your plans for expanding the (sales) department?
- What do you consider to be your firm's three most important assets?
- How long have you been with the organization, and what path led you to your current role?
- What is your company's philosophy about promotions from within?
- How is your company involved within the community?
- What do you see in the future for this industry?
- What advice can you give me as a graduate just getting started in this industry?
- What is your company's management philosophy?
