Cooperative Education/Internship

Today companies and organizations expect the college graduates they hire will have a career-related experience as part of their degree program. By participating in the cooperative education/internship program, students receive "real-world" experience that cannot be taught in a classroom. NDSU Faculty have stated that co-op/intern experience provides students with a perspective that often makes them better in the classroom. Students exhibit the confidence and attitude that comes with an understanding of how their course work relates to their career goals. Many advisors will tie academics to the co-op/internship experience with the option for a student to substitute co-op/internship credits for technical electives by writing a paper or completing an assigned project. Contact the Career Center for assistance.
