First Impression?
Accounting - Very trendy.Ag Business - Clean and neat.
Ag Lending - Looks like something to be worn if working in retail.
Ag Processing - Looks professional. If I was looking for office or professional position this would be very appropriate.
Education / K-12 - Very clean and crisp - very summer. The shirt underneath is a bit too casual (or showy, depending on the person). I think this is a dating outfit.
Engineering - Civil/Construction - Looks very nice---but almost a little too sexy. It could be either distracting or interpreted as a "come-on." A pantsuit is fine; this one just seemed a little too form-fitting and low cut.
Engineering - Construction - This individual looks professional. This individual is looking for a professional/technical career. Engineering - Manufacturing - Looks a lot like a model?
Engineering - Manufacturing - Looks as though the person is going to Old Broadway - very seasonal.
Financial - Very sharp, but I think the neck-line might be too low.
Healthcare - Neat, professional, well-fitting clothes. Would definitely be impressed.
Health Insurance - Professional.
Hospitality - This is person likes to have fun and to stand out in the crowd. She probably does not take things too seriously.
Information Technology - This would not be my first choice of dress for an interview. It looks put together well, but not as professional. All white is a little over-powering and the black accents look slightly out of place.
Marketing - Fashionable. Trendy. Looks great. Hope she doesn't eat a big plate of pasta for lunch.
Medical Device / Biotechnology - Nicely dressed, bold.
Retail Merchandising - This is an attractive suit but it is a bit too tight fitting.
Appropriate to wear to an Interview?
Accounting - I think darker is a better choice.Ag Business - Maybe not as formal as I like. But does fit in to my "nice and neat" qualification.
Ag Lending - The top and jacket are a little low-cut for an interview. Perhaps a different top under the jacket?
Education / K-12 - This would be fine for a summer interview, but does not tell the interviewer that there is an understanding about what the job might entail or that you are really serious. It speaks to fashion sense more than common sense.
Engineering - Civil/Construction - It could be---but as a recruiter, there have been several times when I was aware of strong sexuality and it biased my impression----negatively.
Engineering - Manufacturing - I'm not sure. Probably not.
Engineering - Manufacturing - White is an occasion outfit, not appropriate for an interview.
Financial - Yes, with a different shirt.
Healthcare - Yes, this would work well. Perhaps better in a casual work setting where traditional attire is not required.
Hospitality - No, not for management of any Hospitality facility.
Information Technology - This would be OK to wear to an interview, but I believe there are many other better choices.
Marketing - In my industry, yes.
Medical Device / Biotechnology - This is acceptable to wear to an interview. Something more neutral in color would be more professional.
Retail Merchandising - This would not be appropriate for an interview. The color is not good and it would be difficult to stay spotless.
Ag Processing, Engineering - Construction, Health Insurance - Yes, this is appropriate for an interview.
Appropriate to wear to a Career Fair?
Accounting - Darker is probably a better choice.Ag Business - Totally acceptable to wear to a career fair.
Ag Lending - It is more appropriate for a career fair than an interview.
Ag Processing - Yes, first impressions are sometimes lasting ones.
Education / K-12 - It would be difficult in a school setting - too light and potentially too tight-fitting to be fully comfortable. If you were doing something with the staff outside of work this might work.
Engineering - Civil/Construction - Probably not---but maybe I am way too sensitive. I am a male and perhaps women recruiters would not feel the same way.
Engineering - Construction - Yes, this is appropriate for a career fair.
Engineering - Manufacturing - Probably not. It is rather flashy for an engineering interview.
Engineering - Manufacturing - No, this is not appropriate for a career fair.
Financial - Yes, with a different shirt.
Healthcare - Most definitely.
Health Insurance - Yes.
Hospitality - No, this would not be acceptable attire for a career event. In our industry, attire should be professional and somewhat conservative no matter the event.
Information Technology - This would be OK to wear to a career event, but I believe there are many other better choices.
Marketing - I think it helps her stand out from the boring black suits. She could use some color underneath though.
Medical Device / Biotechnology - This is acceptable to wear to a career event. Something more neutral in color would be more professional.
Retail Merchandising - I don't think this would be appropriate for a career event. It might be OK on the job but in a situation where you are being interviewed, white is not a good color.
