First Impression?

Accounting - Professional.

Ag Business - Good.

Ag Lending - Looks professional. Tie not necessary with this clean look.

Ag Processing - Professional.

Education / K-12 - Sophisticated.

Engineering - Civil/Construction - Good.

Engineering - Construction - This individual is either over-dressed for a skilled crafts or labor position or under-dressed for a professional position. A tie would have made a world of difference.

Engineering - Manufacturing - Looks good - many times in business you see people foregoing the tie nowadays.

Engineering - Manufacturing - Wanting to make an impression with employer. Decisive and confident.

Financial - Business-casual.

Healthcare - Together, coordinated.

Health Insurance - Professional.

Hospitality - This person is very confident and outgoing. Very approachable.

Information Technology - This look is very business-like.

Marketing - Relaxed. Put-together.

Medical Device / Biotechnology - Semi-professional, interested.

Retail Merchandising - A nice business-casual outfit.

Appropriate to wear to an Interview?

Ag Business - Yes, but needs tie.

Education / K-12 - This would work in education. It is serious and yet casual with the open shirt. I believe this is a dark jacket or sweater and they work.

Engineering - Civil/Construction - Yes----but for engineers pursuing professional careers, I suggest they wear a tie. Otherwise, they run the risk of being screened out for dressing too casually.

Engineering - Construction - Maybe OK.

Engineering - Manufacturing - Maybe - but I would prefer to see a tie.

Engineering - Manufacturing - Definitely.

Healthcare - Yes. Not sure if he has a tie on.

Hospitality - This may be acceptable for a first level supervisory position or an economy hotel management position.

Information Technology - Yes. The suit would look more professional and interview appropriate if a tie were added.

Marketing - Depends on the location. The suit and nice shirt are all professional and in my industry, we never wear ties. The suit without a tie provides the "seriousness" needed, without being stuffy. I like it.

Medical Device / Biotechnology - Acceptable for a causal lunch meeting. Preference would be to put a tie on a for a formal interview. Put forth your best foot. Take the time to put on a tie.

Retail Merchandising - He should add a tie for most interviews -- even if this is not comfortable. It doesn't look finished with the open collar on the shirt.

Accounting, Ag Lending, Ag Processing, Financial, Health Insurance - Yes.

Appropriate to wear to a Career Fair?

Education / K-12 - This would be very appropriate for an education event.

Engineering - Construction - OK.

Engineering - Manufacturing - Yes, absolutely.

Hospitality - Only if it is a business-casual event.

Medical Device / Biotechnology - Acceptable for a causal lunch meeting. Preference would be to put a tie on for a career event. Put forth your best foot. Take the time to put on a tie.

Retail Merchandising - It might be OK for a career event but if he is going to interview there, the tie would be a good thing to add.

Accounting, Ag Business, Ag Lending, Ag Processing, Engineering - Civil/Construction, Engineering - Manufacturing, Financial, Healthcare, Information Technology, Marketing, Health Insurance - Yes.
