Comments from businesses in the College of Business

man in black slacks, blue shirt, white t-shirt, sports coat, black shoes

What is your First Impression?

  • Business casual; Appropriate to wear to work

  • Looks great! Would be good for everyday work
  • Appropriate

  • Savvy, entrepreneurial; Could be a sales rep, business relationship manager or entrepreneur
  • Relaxed dressy

  • Very nice

  • Neat

  • The mix of business attire and the casual open shirt top works

Is this appropriate for a Career Fair?

  • Add a tie and appropriate for a career fair
  • Looks great! Would be good for career fair; It would look even better for a career fair if he added a tie

  • Very appropriate

  • Needs tie

  • Good

  • I like this for a career fair; Professional but not overdone
  • The coat isn't necessary from my point of view, but doesn't hurt either

Is this appropriate for an Interview?

  • For an internship interview, wouldn't change anything. For full time interview on campus, might consider wearing a tie but this outfit doesn't need that. You could walk in, project confidence and competence and get hired pretty easily. If you're being invited to the company’s corporate center for interviews, I'd probably default to adding the tie.
  • Add a tie and appropriate for an interview

  • Looks great! Would be good for an interview; It would look even better for an interview if he added a tie
  • Might suggest a tie, depending on the dress code of the company

  • Could work for an interview, adding a tie would be nice

  • Perfectly appropriate

  • Needs tie
