I would like to begin by wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting many of you in Milwaukee last October at the North Midwest Section Annual Conference. I am sure, you were as pleased as I was in sharing our experiences and learning from one another about our passion - engineering education. Marquette University was an excellent host - thanks to Chris Perez and the conference committee for an outstanding job. I encourage you to attend the next section annual conference hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato, on October 21-23, 2010. The conference theme, "Engineering Education: What Works?" is relevant to all areas of engineering education and offers something for everyone.

All of you are doing exciting things in your classroom or laboratory that are worthy of sharing with your colleagues. I ask that you seriously consider sharing your experiences and educational research with the rest of us. It starts with an abstract and ends with a peer-reviewed paper and presentation to a group of like-minded educational professionals. The benefits of networking and sharing your passion with your fellow educators are invaluable. I would also encourage you to nominate your colleagues for awards such as the North Midwest Section Outstanding Educator Award. To those active members, campus representatives, and officers, I offer my sincerest thanks for your support and promotion of the North Midwest Section and its activities.
