Bequests of all sizes are welcome and help to perpetuate
a tradition begun many years ago by Robert Pearson when
he left a portion of his estate to the College of Engineering and
Architecture. The most useful type of estate gifts are unrestricted, although
restricted bequests for scholarships, the library, faculty
development, teaching endowment, and research are also
welcome. Donors may also obtain significant estate and income tax
savings by designating NDSU Development Foundation
as a beneficiary of part or all of what remains of their
IRA, Keogh, 401(k), 403(b), or other qualified pension plan. Bequests and testamentary gifts of qualified pension plans
intended for the ultimate use of NDSU should be stipulated
as such in the terms of the will, trust, or beneficiary
designation form. The following language may be used for a
general bequest to NDSU, unrestricted as to purpose: "I give (________dollars or ______percent of the residue
of my estate) to the North Dakota State University Development
Foundation, Fargo, ND, a charitable corporation, for its general
purposes." If you would like to receive more information about bequests or
a full description of our current goals, please e-mail:
