Historian John Cox, who earned his doctorate from Indiana University, specializes in East European History and translations. He is the author of Understanding Ismail Kadare (forthcoming), of Slovenia: Evolving Loyalties (2005) and of The History of Serbia (2002). He has translated works from Slovene, from Serbian, from German and from French literatures; he has translated works by Mesa Selimovic and Danilo Kis, among others.
Dr. Cox is currently head of the history department at NDSU.
