Pre-Departure Orientations

*Two mandatory meetings*

If you are to attend, you will receive an email confirming your invitation to the orientation approximately one month before the date arrives.  It is required that you attend, even if you have not yet been officially accepted on your study abroad program.

If you have any questions about these mandatory orientations, please contact your study abroad advisor.

FOR STUDENTS STUDYING ABROAD SPRING 2008:

Study Abroad Pre-Departure #1

This first meeting will focus mostly on these types of study abroad-related issues: passports, visas, NDSU Study Abroad Course Plan, registering for classes, purchasing plane tickets, money issues and financial aid, how to find out more about your host country, etcetera. It will also be a chance for you to meet each other - this will be especially interesting for those of you who find you may be going to the same location as other NDSU students.

Date:  October 31

Time:  2-4 or 5-7

Place: Prairie Rose, Memorial Union

Study Abroad Pre-Departure #2

At this second meeting,we will be talking about safety issues and cultural adjustments and other topics relating to your studies abroad. Any questions that may have arisen since Pre-Departure #1 can be discussed here, as well.  Study abroad returnees will be available to answer questions and refreshments will be served!

Date:  November 28

Time:  2-4 or 5-7

Place: Dakota South, Memorial Union
