FACTS AND FIGURES ABOUT NDSU AND FARGO

How many students are enrolled at NDSU?

The total student population at NDSU is 12,527 (fall 2007).

How many international students are enrolled at NDSU?

Currently, we have 828 international students from more than 70 countries studying at NDSU. 

What is the ration between students and faculty?

The student to teacher ratio is 19 to 1.

What is the average class size?

More than 80% of our undergraduate classes have fewer than 40 students.  Introductory courses tend to have more students while classes related specifically to your major will generally have 25 students or less.

How big is the city of Fargo?

The Fargo-Moorhead metropolitan area has a population of around 180,000 people.  There are many universities and colleges in the area, so the student population is around 20,000. 

Is there a bus system?

Yes.  As a student at NDSU, you are eligible to ride the MAT bus system for free.  All you need to do is show your NDSU student ID.  There are a variety of bus routes that travel in Fargo and in our neighbor city or Moorhead, Minnesota. 

What kind of food is available?

There are many grocery stores and popular American and fast food restaurants.  Fargo is also home to many ethnic grocery stores and restaurants, including the F-M International Food Market, Asian and American Market, African Market, and Tochi Products and Specialty Foods.  Ethic food restaurants include Mexican, Chinese, Greek, Middle Eastern, Thai, Italian, Indian, and Vietnamese.
